Breaux Bridge, Louisiana’s first Catholic chapel is constructed

St. Bernard Parish is established

The first substantial church building was erected

Today’s current church building was erected under the administration of Rev. P.A. Borel.
The exterior bricks, original to the church, were made at a local factory in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.
The twin steeples and fine French Romaneque architectural lines make it a truly unique historical landmark.
