St. Bernard of Clairvaux
Each year on August 20th, the Church celebrates the memory and legacy of St. Bernard of Clairvaux (1090-1153), an abbot and Doctor of the Church. He was a guiding spiritual figure whose influence extended across France and western Europe during the 12th century. St. Bernard played a pivotal role in fostering the deep devotion to Our Lady that thrived in the later Middle Ages. St. Bernard, pray for us!
